Lay out samples of the proposed field and border together. Compare texture and color in the light where they will be used, and confirm the actual product is suitable for the intended pedestrian or vehicle use. Available unit sizes determine which patterns can be built.
Appearance is one part of the selection. Ask about the chosen product’s care, expected variation, wet-use suitability and installation requirements. A color or pattern name alone cannot establish traction, surface temperature or performance.

A pattern that looks striking on a small sample can feel busy across a broad courtyard. Start with the brick, stone and trim already in view, then compare how a larger field, a quiet border or a contrasting inset would sit alongside them.
The design should remain clear when furniture is in place and the surface is seen from indoors. Reserve strong contrasts for the edges or focal points you want people to notice, and give the main field enough room to read as one surface.

Should the pavers match the house exactly?
An exact match is one option, but a complementary color or quieter field may work better beside varied brick or stone. Compare actual samples together and consider the whole elevation.
Can I mix patterns in one paved area?
Yes, with a clear reason for each change. A border, dining inset or arrival point can carry a different pattern while the main field connects the space. Unit sizes and cuts need to be resolved in the layout.
Will the same pavers suit a patio and driveway?
Suitability depends on the selected product and the installation required for its intended use. Confirm vehicle loading and the supporting construction before carrying a patio selection into a drive.
What makes the estimate specific?
